Critters

Following a large pre-christmas run on stuffed animals, we’ve put the call out to our taxidermist for more of the bizarre and unusual as well as for the more classic mounts.

These are just a couple of examples of what we’ve come up with… the Fantastic Mr Fox above…

A Boobook Owl and a couple of beautiful deers’ heads are also part of our current cadaverous creature collection.

Coming soon… another skunk and maybe even a raccoon…

Fresh eye-candy

So just before Christmas, Jason Grant visited our showroom with photographer Felix Forest to style some beautiful new images for us featuring some of our favorite pieces.

The results are stunning, and we are equally excited to see the shots he styled of our home upstairs from the showroom. Unfortunately we will have to wait a while to see them!

We’ll keep you posted as to where and when you can see those… watch this space! In the meantime all the new images have been posted to our gallery…

Painted elephants

In addition to our Zebra print linen, we’ve added another design or two to our range of digitally printed fabrics. This one was inspired by the majestic, beautiful painted elephants we encountered on our travels around Rajasthan…

Stay tuned for more…

The Colourful Swan

Our favorite artist Miranda Skoczek has wowed us once more with this latest addition to the fenton&fenton wall space.

It’s entitled “The Colourful Swan”, oil and acrylic on canvas at 92cm x 152cm. The price is $3900. Please call us to register your interest. Hesitation is not recommended.

What… the curtains?

No not the curtains… the blinds. Not content with dull white blockout blinds in our office which is where inspiration often strikes, we had some large format zebra print made into blinds!

And coming soon, the next in the series… painted elephants!

Well… anyway, we think it’s exciting.

The skulls are back Ted…

Our latest display at fenton&fenton showcases our penchant for turning the slightly macabre into the creepily impressive, and our nose to tail philosophy where to waste not is to want not.

Sure, one judiciously mounted skull could be the talking point of any boudoir or smoking room, but three mounted in formation… that’s a game changer.

These are very popular and hard to come by. I’d say they make a great Christmas present but I’m not sure how Rudolph and co. would feel about toting Santa about with a sack full of them.

#winning

We found this lovely old wingback chair on our travels recently and had a sudden flash of inspiration… raw denim and a vintage flour sack from Minnesota… should work perfectly together. Turns out we were right!

This one’s goin straight to the pool room!

Homage to machines

Some folks will try to tell you that interiors are all about stuffy old antiquities, but that kind of attitude just reveals a lack of gratitude towards those wonderful machines that made the age of consumerism a possibility.

Before machines stepped in to free us up and make us more money, we had neither the time nor the wherewithal to step out on a balmy Friday afternoon and hit the shops just because we felt like it.

So those that turn up their nose at industrial interiors are merely forgetting that without machines, there wouldn’t be a plethora of little antique shops because no-one would have the time or money to shop in any of them.

So from fenton&fenton: here’s to our wonderful machines! This one’s for you.

there’s zebra print and then there’s…

We admit it. We’re into zebra. However in true fenton&fenton style we’ve had to put our own unique spin on the concept.

It’s a shame we can’t provide a voice over from Sir David Attenborough.

“And here we see the zebra cushion, truly relaxed and at home in it’s natural environment – the sofa.”

Digitally printed on linen with a linen backing, we’ve made the contrast quite soft to give the print a lovely aged feel and far more versatility than your typical zebra!
