Meet Courtnee Crews: LA-born stylist, content creator, and colour devotee, now bringing her saturated, joy-filled aesthetic to her new Melbourne home as she begins her renovation journey. As the creative force behind Ruth Polish, Courtnee lives and breathes playful design. We spoke with her about her bi-hemisphere holiday plans, her love of festive colour, and the F&F pieces on her wishlist.

How are you spending the holiday season this year?
I’m spending pre-Christmas with my family in the US for that Winter holiday feeling and then jetting back for a Summer Christmas in Melbourne with my family there! The best of both worlds :)
How does colour influence the way you style your home for the festive season?
Styling with colour is my favourite thing to do! My house is very colourful so when it comes to decorating, the more the merrier. It just feels so happy and nostalgic.
What F&F Goodies are on your Wishlist this year?
Jarra Paper Mache Vessel in Jellybean Green (the colour is incredible and I love a pop of green). The Zulta Cushion in every pattern because, how fun would they be together!? And the Nomad Dhurrie Rug in Oasis. I feel like the blue would be so fun in my orange living room.

What does your festive table usually look like?
Full! Always colourful plates and fun dishes filled with different treats. The bigger variety, the better. Usually a butter tower. Oh, and plenty of candles.
What's on your menu this festive season?
I always make a big pot of corn and crab bisque for my Aussie Christmas. I’m from Louisiana so this is a little tradition that I’ve brought over.
What's playing on repeat at your Christmas get-together?
Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses
What's one tradition you'll never skip?
My husband and I fill each other’s stockings to unwrap just us two Christmas morning. We usually travel and skip gifts, but this tradition has become so fun seeing what things we’ve picked up without the other noticing.

What's your signature festive drink - and who's mixing it?
Coconut margaritas! I’m always the bartender :)
What is your entertaining top tip?
Yummy food, music, and the people around you are the most important for us. If you don’t think it’s perfect, chances are nobody will even notice. Oh, and ordering in is totally fine! This has helped me be more present and actually be a part of the action.
