We recently styled the iconic Fender House, a lovingly restored 6 bedroom mid-century home on the Mornington Peninsula.
We were familiar with this lovingly restored mid-century marvel, so when we were looking for a home to show-off our latest 70’s inspired furniture collection - Good Times, we knew it would be the perfect fit and backdrop to style up a 70’s vibe, with contemporary appeal.
We wanted a home that felt like we were living in the 70s. Originally designed by renowned architect, Karl Fender, and restored by its owners, Katie and Ian, with the updated features feeling like they were original to its era.
The owners had their refurb ideas ‘Fender approved’ when tackling their makeover in 2017. We fell in love with the terrazzo surrounded pool, retro green carpet throughout, original wood paneling and extensive garden views. The perfect space to imagine ‘Good Times’.
The home’s rich texture, wood paneling, terrazzo floors, garden views and fab green carpet had us feeling like we had stepped back into the 70s.
We added layers and layers of power colours, statement artwork and playfully shaped furniture, designed to gather friends around and celebrate the good times.
Inviting attention through bold colours, gentle curves, striking form and a playful design language, like the home itself, this collection by Fenton & Fenton was imagined through the nostalgic memories and good vibes and good times shared in the 70s.
Key pieces styled in this project included Lenny Dining Chair, Rosie Dining Table, Mimi Bench, Homebody Sofa and more. Complemented with a bright & bold collection of artwork by 10 Australian Artists.
