Artist Statement:
Spotted on the sun-drenched streets of Lipari, Mario's Fruit captures a real-life scene I encountered while travelling - a local vendor selling fruit from the back of his little truck, his name painted proudly on the side. Warm, muted tones and layered texture hold the worn beauty of the island: crates of citrus under a faded awning, Mario resting in the shade. A quiet celebration of the everyday rituals that make up Sicilian life.
