Wild Echoes

Javiera Gart & Nathalia Suizu

Two artists. One untamed conversation.
31.07 - 15.08

Wild Echoes unites the work of artists Nathalia Suizu and Javiera Gart in an immersive exploration of instinct, emotion, and our deep-rooted connection to the natural world. From mythic creatures to internal landscapes, the works on display explore the echoes between inner and outer worlds—animal and human, personal and universal.

Suizu’s richly symbolic portrayals of animals explore their roles as spiritual mirrors and ancient guides.

Gart’s painterly studies of colour and the female form reveal an emotive, intimate response to the places and moments that shape us.

Together, their work pulses with a quiet power—a wild knowing that lives deep within us all.

ARTIST BIO

Nathalia Suizu

Since the dawn of time, animals have held a sacred place in the human imagination. The first known figurative marks made by our ancestors—depictions of wild boars and bulls—adorn the ancient caves of Borneo and Lascaux. Across cultures and millennia, animals have emerged as totems, omens, gods, and guides. They’ve been woven into creation myths, celestial systems, and sacred rituals—symbols of strength, cunning, grace, and instinct.

In these creatures, we recognise parts of ourselves. The fierce protection of a mother bear, the freedom in an eagle’s flight, the silent knowing of an owl’s gaze—these archetypes continue to shape human consciousness. Animals move between worlds—bridging the wild and the tame, the known and the mysterious, the earthly and the divine.

This collection honours animals not merely as subjects of reverence, but as living symbols of the eternal. They are reminders of our primal origins, our intuitive wisdom, and our deep, often forgotten, connection to nature and spirit. Through them, we glimpse a wilder version of ourselves—untamed, instinctual, and alive.

Artist Bio

Javiera Gart

Born in Santiago de Chile and shaped by her time in Buenos Aires and Mexico, Javiera Gart’s practice is a journey of constant transformation—across cultures, emotions, and artistic mediums. Initially drawn to muralism during her time in Mexico, she now works primarily in studio-based painting, exploring intimate formats that allow for a more personal, introspective approach.

Gart’s work is deeply influenced by the female form and the ongoing process of self-discovery. Her paintings are rooted in place and feeling—drawing inspiration from local cultures, everyday encounters, and the emotional undercurrents that often go unnoticed. Through abstraction and the nuanced study of colour, she creates atmospheres that feel both universal and intimately personal.

Her artistic journey spans Australia, Europe, North and South America, enriched by residencies and exhibitions that continue to shape her evolving visual language. Each canvas becomes a kind of emotional cartography—a way to explore solitude, sensitivity, and connection. In Gart’s own words: “My goal is to discover new visions of ourselves through painting—as a source of containment, introspection, and shared experience.”
