Sarah Ellis

Sarah Ellis is a contemporary mixed media artist based on Darug Land in the Blue Mountains. Informed by this landscape, and by longstanding ties to the NSW South Coast and Northern Rivers, her practice is grounded in a felt sense of place.

Her work offers a distinctly Australian sensibility, exploring heat, light, and stillness through quietly composed figures and sunlit spaces.

Ellis creates layered, tactile works that evoke time, weather, and wear. Her compositions bring together figures at ease in their environment with gestures of everyday abundance - sun-warmed fruit, shared meals, and the quiet rituals that sustain us.

Her recent collection, Unbothered, considers home as something carried: a rhythm, a posture, a gratitude, a way of moving through the world.
