Luxe communal living at Kings Domain
Earlier this year we were briefed to fully furnish and decorate the communal facilities of a swanky 23-story high-rise apartment in Melbourne. Known as Kings Club on level 5, the space was earmarked as a luxurious retreat for residents with the mission to bring the Kings Domain community together.
Conveying the opulence of a luxurious hotel, we worked collaboratively with Land Real’s development and project management team to interpret their collective vision for the space, adding the expressive and homely fenton & fenton feel we have become renowned for. The dream brief invited us to furnish and dress a library/lounge, terrace area, cinema room, casual and private dining rooms, wine cellar, billiards room and finally a pool house overlooking a lap pool with sun lounging deck.
Inspired by the luxury of boutique hotel stays, we reveled in curating spaces that felt designer hotel like, whilst also warm and welcoming; ensuring the future residents would feel right at home. Not only did we address the form and function of the space, we also worked with renowned Australian artist Megan Weston, who was commissioned to create a series of signature artworks to grace the walls. It was Megan’s work that impacted the colourful and expressive direction we chose to take. Her works are bold, playful and expressive, just the way we like a home to be.
From conceptual planning to CAD drawings, furniture and artwork selections to installation, it was our aim to create spaces that felt both luxe and lived in. The end result is colourful, curated and completely ready to unwind, entertain and come together in. All furniture, rugs, décor and artwork are available through fenton & fenton.
